    GA.NU is committed to maintaining a safe and trustworthy platform. This guide explains what constitutes abuse, how to report it, and what happens when policies are violated.

    What is Considered Abuse?

    Abuse includes, but is not limited to:

    • Malware distribution — Using domains to spread viruses or harmful software
    • Phishing — Creating fake websites to steal credentials or personal information
    • Spam — Using domains for unsolicited bulk messaging
    • Fraud — Deceptive practices to scam or defraud others
    • Illegal content — Hosting content that violates laws
    • Trademark infringement — Registering domains that infringe on others' trademarks
    • Harassment — Using domains to harass or threaten individuals

    How to Report Abuse

    If you encounter a .ga.nu domain being used for abuse:

    1. Go to the Abuse Report page (linked in our footer)
    2. Provide the domain name in question
    3. Select the type of abuse
    4. Describe what you observed
    5. Include any evidence (screenshots, URLs, etc.)
    6. Submit the report

    All reports are reviewed by our team.

    What Happens After a Report?

    When we receive an abuse report:

    1. Review — Our team investigates the report
    2. Verification — We confirm whether abuse occurred
    3. Action — If confirmed, we take appropriate action
    4. Notification — The domain owner may be notified (depending on severity)

    Possible Actions

    Depending on the severity and type of abuse:

    • Warning — For minor or first-time violations
    • Content removal request — Asking the owner to remove problematic content
    • DNS suspension — Temporarily disabling the domain's DNS
    • Domain suspension — Full suspension of the domain
    • Termination — Permanent removal and account action

    What Suspension Means

    If your domain is suspended:

    • Your domain will stop resolving (website becomes inaccessible)
    • DNS records are disabled
    • You may lose access to email on that domain
    • You'll receive notification about the suspension

    Appealing a Suspension

    If you believe your domain was suspended in error:

    1. Check your email for the suspension notice
    2. Review the stated reason
    3. Respond with any clarifying information
    4. Our team will review your appeal

    Preventing Suspension

    To keep your domain in good standing:

    • Follow our Terms of Service
    • Don't use your domain for prohibited activities
    • Respond promptly to any notices from GA.NU
    • Keep your contact information current

    Refunds for Suspended Domains

    Domains suspended due to abuse violations are not eligible for refunds. The domain and associated fees are forfeited.
